What earns the 7.6.
Five equally weighted category scores assess the documented purchase for the named buyer. They are not measured speed, handling, crash resistance, runtime or reliability results, and are separate from Amazon customer ratings.
Starting preparation
7.0/10The assembled finished vehicle avoids body and electronics projects, but drive LiPo and charger remain separate.
Desert-truck equipment
8.5/10Cockpit and inner-body presentation, three-differential 4WD and documented drivetrain hardware give the desert format a clear purpose.
Control configuration
7.5/10SLT3 limiting and a separate SR315 receiver support a deliberate returning owner’s setup without claiming stock DSC or AVC.
Service information
8.0/10Current exact drawings and access guidance identify the larger enclosed truck’s service assemblies.
Complete-purchase value
7.0/10Value depends on wanting this scale body and footprint, with charging, storage and transport included in the plan.
A larger desert truck for the owner who wants the complete scale presentation.
The Mojave 4S is for a returning recreational driver who wants a substantial desert-truck RTR with a cockpit, inner body and four-wheel-drive mechanical package already coordinated. I would shortlist it when scale presentation is part of the enjoyment and there is open ground to use a longer truck. The reservation is ownership scale: at a listed 638mm length and 4.75kg weight, it asks for more space, carrying and service preparation than a small beginner vehicle, before the extra battery and charger are even considered.
This review identifies the white/red complete ARA4404T1 verified through Amazon's Creators API. It is the 1/8 4S truck, not a Mojave GROM, a newer 6S generation or a replacement shell. Current manufacturer documentation establishes the Firma 3668 2400Kv motor, 120A controller, SLT3 transmitter, SR315 receiver and three-differential layout. A shared desert-truck name does not make the different power classes, dimensions and contents interchangeable. Keep the exact model number with the name throughout the purchase.
I would choose this Mojave because the complete factory format is what I wanted, rather than as a cheap starting chassis for removing the body and changing most electronics. The cockpit and inner protection are real equipment and visual reasons to buy. If those details add little to your enjoyment, compare a simpler short-course or monster format. If the planned route is small, a GROM may fit better. The larger truck needs to solve an actual use-and-interest brief, not merely look impressive beside a smaller scale label.

The finished vehicle still needs a documented power arrangement.
ARRMA supplies the assembled vehicle with finished desert body, fitted motor and ESC, S652 metal-geared servo, SLT3 transmitter, SR315 receiver, AA transmitter cells and basic tools. The cockpit and inner-shell arrangement are part of the presentation, so you do not start by painting and building a scale body. The separate receiver also defines a different electronics layout from the combined ESC/receiver found in the 223S family. The package is a complete RTR vehicle, with a separate drive-power purchase still required.
The current manufacturer supports 3S and 4S LiPo operation, and the manual documents its approved battery arrangements and connection requirements. Use those instructions if choosing a permitted paired-pack route; do not improvise the wiring. A charger, LiPo charging bag and any separate charger input supply belong in the startup checklist. Transmitter AAs are supplied. The battery needs to satisfy the documented rating, connection, physical fit and restraint, not simply have an attractive capacity or price.
The manual's model-specific table gives the Mojave tray as 163 × 51 × 48mm. It appears beside other 4S vehicles with different lengths, so read the correct column rather than borrowing the Outcast's 165mm figure. Check the actual cable path too. Then inspect wheels, steering movement, body retention and battery hold-down before the first run. Use the fitted tire and gearing combination as a baseline, with a modest initial route that confirms normal operation.
Before the first session
- Choose a documented compatible drive battery and charger, checking chemistry, connector and dimensions.
- Install the four supplied AA transmitter cells.
- Follow the exact manual for chemistry settings, startup sequence and free steering checks.
- Begin with conservative controls and an open stopping area.

Three differentials give the desert format a clear mechanical package.
The Firma 3668 motor is specified at 2400Kv and feeds a shaft-driven 4WD system with front, center and rear differentials. The manufacturer's current feature list identifies EXB-derived CV shafts and metal input and ring gears. Those are specific equipment facts, not a claim that every component is metal or that the vehicle cannot be damaged. The center-differential arrangement belongs to this 4S package and should be serviced from its exact drawings rather than a generic Mojave or 223S recipe.
A differential lets connected wheel or drive paths accommodate different speeds, with the installed configuration determining how load is distributed. That matters when a desert truck crosses varied ground, but it does not establish a measured handling advantage by itself. Keep the factory arrangement while learning the regular route. If later changing fluids or components, state the actual behavior you want to alter and compare one change at a time. Another model's setting is not automatically correct for this chassis and tire combination.
The 3S route provides a documented alternative to 4S without requiring another motor and ESC. It can be useful for a returning owner establishing the first baseline, though the available space and settings still matter. Manufacturer 50-plus mph language is a configured-condition claim, not our measurement. Stock gearing is a sensible initial reference for dirt recreation. A speed-run setup should be a separate purposeful activity, not a mandatory choice to feel that you received the vehicle's advertised value.

Learn the stock SLT3 and ESC instead of assuming assistance from another family.
The installed radio is an SLT3 with SR315 receiver, paired with the Firma Smart ESC. This article does not add factory DSC or AVC to that specification. The transmitter's output-limiting options are useful for a deliberate first session, but limiting motor output is different from electronic steering correction. Read the current radio and controller manuals and set neutral, direction and endpoints using the prescribed process before interpreting a trademark elsewhere in a document as an installed feature.
Use broad turns and a clear braking area to establish the control baseline. Keep the battery configuration steady while learning the vehicle's size and responses. A longer heavy truck needs room to finish a maneuver, and a reduced output setting cannot make an obstructed site suitable. If the vehicle does not steer freely, check the mechanism and tire contact before trying another radio adjustment. A factory-fitted receiver simplifies startup without removing the ordinary setup and inspection job.
The separate receiver can matter to a future radio project, but it is not a reason to replace the coordinated equipment before using it. Our control assessment concerns the documented stock arrangement for a returning recreational desert-truck buyer. It contains no measured range, delay, brake distance, assistance effectiveness or telemetry-accuracy result. Those unavailable figures should remain separate from the credible equipment choices the manufacturer actually lists for this exact SKU.

Sway bars and adjustable links are useful tools for a repeatable route.
The current S652 metal-geared servo, adjustable turnbuckles, oil-filled aluminum shocks and front and rear sway bars are documented hardware. Check steering through its range and inspect free movement before introducing more load. Large tires pressed into an obstruction need room to turn, not a prolonged steering command against resistance. Verify body and suspension clearance with the full movement range, especially after any later tire or ride-height change.
A sway bar couples movement across an axle and changes the response when the wheels move differently. It can be useful for managing body movement, while also affecting how tires follow uneven terrain. Do not select a setting only because it seems firmer or more advanced. Establish a repeated corner and modest rough section, record the factory arrangement and compare one change across both. A setup that helps the smooth portion may give something away on the uneven part of the same route.
Adjustable links and shocks provide genuine setup scope, but they also make it easier to lose the baseline. Keep notes and inspect tire contact and wear. The manufacturer's scale body movement is a presentation claim, not a damping measurement supplied by this review. We reward the documented equipment and usable adjustment range for an interested owner. We do not report measured steering force, cornering pace, landing control or a suspension advantage over another desert truck.

A larger desert body needs a route proportionate to its footprint.
The dBoots Fortress LP tires, listed 37mm center clearance and long 380mm wheelbase describe the stock terrain package. Firm dirt and varied recreational ground are the first environments I would inspect. A desert silhouette does not mean loose sand of any depth or every rough site is equally appropriate. Walk the route for ruts, stones and hard edges that could catch an arm or wheel, and leave space for braking and recovery beyond the most exciting section.
Thick grass can still add drag to a brushless 4WD truck. Inspect buildup and cooling after shorter initial runs while learning the surface. More voltage is not the correct response to every obstruction. The detailed body and inner shell also create places where dirt can accumulate, so choose a route you can clean up after as well as drive. A larger vehicle makes that service task a more substantial part of the outing than it may have been on a small RTR.
Greg Vogel's independent RC Driver coverage describes Mojave 4S driving in different scenarios and considers it beside the 6S truck. Those are his sessions and comparisons, not ours. We do not import a speed, runtime, damage result or head-to-head verdict. The editorial terrain recommendation is based on the current documented hardware and the space a returning owner has available. Begin modestly, then let repeatable use identify which part of the route or setup actually needs changing.

The cockpit and inner shell are reasons to buy and assemblies to inspect.
The scale desert body, detailed cockpit, roll-cage presentation, bumpers and inner dirt protection are part of the complete package. They can make ordinary driving visually engaging without a separate body project. Learn the retention and access arrangement from the model manual, including how to reach the battery without trapping leads or forcing the shell. We do not assume another Mojave generation's clipless system is fitted here merely because its name or promotional photo looks similar.
After a run, inspect the shell's seating, mounting areas and exposed scale details, then remove it for chassis checks. Look over cooling, steering, shafts and shocks, along with wheel nuts and tire bonding. Dirt guards and outdrive protection do useful work without keeping every particle out. The current 4S manual and exploded drawings should identify replacement assemblies. A 6S or GROM part sharing a description needs its own fit confirmation before it belongs on this vehicle.
The manufacturer's water-resistant components still need prescribed cleaning and drying after wet use. Do not store a dirty enclosed chassis and assume the inner shell performed all maintenance for you. We have no long-term wear log or live local-parts survey. Confirm exact service support with your intended shop if it affects the purchase. Clear documentation and identifiable assemblies are buying benefits, while the real workload depends on the ground and conditions you repeatedly choose.

Count rechargeable equipment and the physical scale of the outing.
The dated static reference is the manufacturer US complete-vehicle price, while Amazon offers are separately refreshed. Add the exact permitted LiPo arrangement, charger, charging bag and any separate charger input supply. The listed transmitter AAs are included. We give a completion checklist rather than an invented universal total, because an owner with suitable existing power gear has fewer purchases than someone moving into this cell count and pack size for the first time.
Existing equipment should still pass the full compatibility check. Use the manual's Mojave-specific tray dimensions and rating requirements, verify connector and permitted wiring and secure the leads correctly. A second drive pack can shorten downtime, but remains optional until actual use shows its purpose. Better tools and cleaning supplies can support ownership, while another body color and cosmetics are separate enjoyment purchases. They should not obscure the requirements for the first usable session.
Consider carrying, storage and bench access alongside the cash basket. The documented length and weight are substantial enough to change the outing compared with a smaller Senton or GROM. If you intended to remove most scale detail or immediately change the electronics, price that finished project before choosing this complete RTR. Its value is strongest when the factory desert presentation and coordinated mechanical package are exactly what you wanted, rather than parts paid for only to be set aside.

Choose the scale of the desert-truck activity before the power headline.
The Senton 223S is a useful smaller short-course comparison with a 2S/3S brushless package, DSC equipment and separate rechargeable purchases. It is worth considering for a more compact dirt circuit or an owner who prefers fewer scale details. We have not measured their handling or durability together. The comparison is about body format, dimensions, control equipment and complete startup needs, which can explain the buying choice without an invented performance ranking.
The Mojave GROM is the compact desert route. Its brushed and brushless complete packages need exact-SKU comparison, because included power equipment and capabilities differ. Smaller size changes which ordinary stones, grass and jumps are proportionate. It is not merely this truck's experience shrunk at no cost. If carrying convenience and a small nearby site are central, its scale may be the strongest reason to choose it before comparing the advertised pace of either vehicle.
The Mojave 6S is a different larger-power project with its own current generation and equipment. Consider it when that route is already part of your plan and price the actual battery and charger arrangement. Do not transfer Vogel's comparison into a claimed test here. The 4S truck can be the purposeful destination for a buyer who wants this documented size and factory presentation. Owning the largest available power class is not a prerequisite for enjoying a complete desert-truck activity.
| Vehicle | Buying route | Reason to compare |

A compelling larger desert package when realism and room are both part of the plan.
I would shortlist the white/red ARA4404T1 for a returning recreational owner who wants the cockpit and desert presentation, has open ground and can equip the documented 3S/4S route. The three-differential drivetrain, current hardware, adjustable suspension and service documents make a coherent complete purchase. The reservations are separately bought power, the long heavy footprint and the maintenance associated with a detailed enclosed vehicle. Those are practical consequences of choosing this format, not a claim that the truck needs immediate replacement parts.
The five equally weighted category scores assess starting preparation, desert equipment, control configuration, service information and complete-purchase value for that buyer. They do not measure speed, handling, jump response, crash resistance, runtime or reliability. Current manufacturer sources establish the exact 4S vehicle, Amazon verifies its complete white/red commercial listing, and RC Driver supplies independent attributable coverage. The publisher's driving and 6S comparison remain its own evidence, while our purchase conclusion is original and conditional.
Buy it when the stock factory desert truck is the project you actually want. Establish conservative controls, inspect the model-specific power fit and keep cleaning part of the session plan. Skip it for a tiny route, an incomplete rechargeable budget or a plan to remove the features that justify its presentation. The right size of desert truck is the one you can equip, carry and use regularly. This Mojave earns a strong shortlist place on those terms without requiring a maximum-power first outing.

No. ARA4404T1 is the complete white/red 1/8 4S vehicle, with its own dimensions, motor and power requirements.
Does it accept 3S too?
The current manufacturer documents 3S and 4S LiPo compatibility. Choose the proper pack, restraint, connector and charging setup before changing configuration.
Does it have a center differential?
Yes. Current specifications identify three differentials and the center-diff arrangement. Use the exact 4S diagrams when servicing it.
What rechargeable items are extra?
A compatible LiPo and charger, plus any charger input supply. The official package lists transmitter AA cells.
Does the stock radio include DSC or AVC?
This review describes the documented SLT3/SR315 package and does not claim factory DSC or AVC. Follow the actual transmitter and ESC manual.
Why compare size before car price?
At 638mm length and 4.75kg listed weight, this is a substantial carrying and service project. A cheaper or smaller complete vehicle may better fit the route you use regularly.
How this review was researched.
Current manufacturer documentation establishes hardware and startup requirements. Amazon Creators API verifies B0CK4W3X13, ARA4404T1 and ARRMA for the exact complete-car listing. Greg Vogel’s Mojave 4S driving is credited to his publication; his 6S comparison is not ours. Current manufacturer 3S/4S specifications and exact ARA4404T1 identity govern this article. Speed remains a manufacturer configured-condition claim, and the stock radio is not described as a DSC or AVC package. The shared 4S manual gives Mojave-specific battery-tray length 163mm, different from neighboring vehicle columns; a LiPo charging bag is on its required-equipment page. The buying conclusions and scores are our editorial judgments; we claim no personal drive test.
